Buying Your First Motorhome/Camper

When you decide to venture into the world of campers and motorhomes the choice can be overwhelming. Here we are going to provide you with some tips to try and make it easier for you.

First of all you have to ask yourself why you want a camper or motorhome and what will your needs be. Are you planning on short weekend trips or long adventures over the continent? Do you have children and want to take them to explore or is it just the two of you, retired and looking to get away? This all makes a big difference when choosing what you need.

Other things you need to consider are layouts. Do you want a fixed bed or are you happy to make up beds every night. Do you want one with a separate shower or a smaller bathroom to give you more living space. There are so many layouts available that you should find one that meets your needs.

Your driving license will also be a determining factor in which type of vehicle you want to buy. If you passed your driving test after 1997 then you are only permitted to drive a vehicle up to 3500kg. This could affect the size of the motorhome and also the amount you are allowed to carry on board, your payload.

Budget is another factor when buying your first motorhome or in fact any motorhome. Set your budget and stick to it. If the one you have seen is over your budget then look for an older version or wait until another one comes up for sale. Alternatively you can try caravanning since the initial outlay is less expensive.

These are just a few things to consider when buying your first motorhome. There is lots to think about and we will continue to provide great hints and tips for when you go to buy your first campervan or motorhome.
